Certificate of Caregiver Personal Development: Level 1

Certificate of Caregiver Personal Development: Level 1

Thanks for visiting our Certificate of Caregiver Personal Development: Level 1 (CPDL1) page. At the American Caregiver Association we believe that Personal Development is all about taking a look at yourself. It means examining your strengths and your weaknesses, then setting goals and working to achieve them. As a caregiver, our seniors depend on you. As such, it’s incumbent upon you to provide the highest level of care you can to promote the well-being and quality of life for our seniors.

One way you accomplish this goal is through the study of personal development. By fostering your strengths and augmenting your weaknesses you improve your own life, but you also place yourself in a better position to serve our seniors. And this course meets this need.

Caregiver Personal Development Matters

The topic of caregiver personal development has never been addressed in the industry beyond a passing mention of it here and there. And, typically, when it is mentioned, it is usually directed at management at assisted living facilities, group home and the like. This makes addressing the issue of personal development in caregiving much more important.

The American Caregiver Association believes that it critical that caregivers understand their role as leaders in the field. It doesn’t matter whether you are a family caregiver, working for a home health company or working as a private duty caregiver, personal development starts with you.

This course provides the caregiver with foundational knowledge about personal development, its function, and your role in your own growth. No matter what role you play as a caregiver, your personal growth and development matters.
