Childhood Loneliness Can Lead to Problem Drinking, Study Says #shorts

Lonely kids face a heightened risk of alcohol abuse as young adults, a new study says.

Greater levels of childhood loneliness were followed by greater stress in early adulthood, and that has been associated with drinking, says the study to be published in the journal Addictive Behaviors Reports.

In the Arizona State University research, more than 300 college students were asked to fill out assessments of their loneliness as kids, their current stress levels, and their drinking habits. The assessments showed a link between earlier loneliness and contemporary issues. #shorts #lonliness #mentalhealth #childhoodtrauma
