Breast density is something we don’t talk about often, but it could be key in the early detection of breast cancer. During the scan, breasts are categorized as dense or not dense. There could be cancer hidden in dense tissue that the mammogram alone isn’t picking up. So knowing whether your breasts are dense or not could help you and your healthcare provider know if additional screening is needed.
