Robotics are changing the way we treat colon cancer
Robotics is just one way Mayo Clinic is helping improve colorectal cancer outcomes. With the use of robots, we’re able to perform colorectal surgery to remove the tumor in less invasive ways. The smaller incisions from the robots typically produce fewer complications and shorter hospital stays than a traditional, larger incision. Plus the camera has a magnification ten times stronger than the naked eye to help our surgeons see much better during dissection for a more accurate removal. For treating colon cancer, especially in a growing, younger patient population, technology is on our side.
