Alaska Caregiver Training and Certification

Do you need caregiver certification but aren’t sure where to go to acquire it? Are you a family caregiver wanting to learn a little more about how to care for a loved one still living at home. perhaps, you are interested in pursuing a career as a caregiver, or maybe you want to start your own caregiver service business. Whatever path you are coming from, you will want national caregiver certification through the national certifying body for caregivers, the American Caregiver Association.

This said, obtaining your caregiver certification is important for a number of reasons. First, you pick up the basic knowledge and skills that you are going to need to provide high quality care to your clients or family member. You don’t want to be in a position where you lack the essential knowledge and skill necessary to provide good care. Secondly, there will be those times when you aren’t sure what to do, but then you suddenly recall something that you read in your caregiver course with the ACA that prompts you to do what is needed at that given moment and time.

Third, you might find that you truly enjoy caregiving. We have talked to thousands of caregivers over the years throughout the United States that share their stories with us. Many of these caregivers tell of having to care for a family member with no expectation other than to care for their loved one. Time goes on, and ultimately they find that they have an aptitude for caregiving. In fact, many come to enjoy caregiving quite a lot, despite their initial reservations.

No doubt,  being a caregiver is hard, but it is people like you that are needed. Now more than ever good caregivers are needed. our Baby Boomers are ageing at a pace of over 10,000 a day turning 65 yrs of age. Over the next 20 years private duty caregivers and family caregivers willed called upon in force to fulfill this ever-growing need in our society.  But, without basic care giver certification you are not going to be in a position to fulfill that need. We all have family who needs us at some point or another, and it’s always good that we do what is required in order to care for them when called upon.

When it comes time to get that caregiver certification the American Caregiver Association is here for you. As the national certifying body for caregivers the ACA sets the standard for certification and accreditation. We also certify caregivers through the globe for a variety of reasons. In addition, the ACA oversees the National Caregiver Registry (NCR), the Official registry for caregivers in the United States at the national level. If you live in the state of Alaska and are looking into becoming a caregiver then make sure that you visit our website and peruse the various certification courses and bundle options available to you. There are a number of different options to choose from depending on your needs, goals and situation.
