Caregiver Certificate-What is it?
What is a caregiver certificate? A caregiver certificate is a certificate issued by the American Caregiver Association, the national accrediting body for caregivers. The caregiver certificate is issued only when the individual has successfully completed an ACA course, demonstrating their proficiency on all basic caregiver related areas. Some of these areas include, but are not limited to the following:
Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Understanding resident/client rights
Managing Difficult Behavior
Skin integrity
Medications
Nutrition, Hydration and Food Services
Oral Hygiene
