A Place for Mom created the “Wall of Honor” to highlight and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have played a critical role in our nation’s history – our U.S. veterans.
This Veterans Day, visit the Wall of Honor to show gratitude and pay homage to our veterans and submit a photo and story of your own.
A Tribute to Our Veterans – The Wall of Honor
The Wall of Honor offers family members and friends the opportunity to highlight a loved one that has served in the U.S. military by sharing:
- A photo of the veteran.
- The branch, rank, conflict and/or war the veteran served in.
- The veteran’s personal history and story.

Morris Grayson
“Morris Grayson proudly served in the 3rd Army, 276th Armored Artillery Battalion, Battery B. He shipped out to Utah Beach, Normandy, landing on August 25, 1944. Grayson’s main job was driving a jeep taking messages to headquarters, driving tanks and going out in front of the battalion to find a place for them to camp.”
“He did drive Colonel Patton a couple of times. He said Patton was a lot smarter than most and was always watching what was happening around him.”
“He won a bronze star for heroism.”
Toby Setters
“Toby Setters (shown here in the white jacket) was sworn into the Army at Fort Hood, Texas.”
“He was sworn in with the one and only Elvis Presley!”
“Uncle Toby wasn’t all that impressed of Elvis’ popularity back in the day, but did say they were good buddies.”
Phyllis Snyder
“Phyllis Snyder signed up to join the Marine Corps as soon as she was old enough in February of 1943 and started active duty May 31, 1943.”
“She was among the first women to join the Marine Corps.”
“She became an aircraft mechanic and was honorably discharged from the Aviation Reserve Women’s squadron in September of 1945.”
